swimming is bean's favorite thing to do. she loves being in the water. the only thing she doesn't like is getting her head wet... well, it is ok as long as she is the one putting the water on her head. :)
sadly this was the last day of the shark pool. the shark pool was awesome and fun but he has sprung a leak! in about an hour over half the air had leaked out leaving him a saggy, sad mess. poor shark! we went to target and got a new pool. we decided against the shark pool because at 8 feet long it was a little hard to store! the 5 1/2 foot circular pool will be much easier to handle.
oh, you do have to LOVE the tankini- too cute, huh?!?! i love target!
ok, on to the opossum.
husband notices that his weed sprayer is empty. just a few days before it was half full of round up. it is in a locked shed so no one could have gotten it out and sprayed it. we decided that it must have leaked out of the nozzle. he mowed the lawn. he comes inside and we have this conversation-
him: "after you get bean down for her nap i need you to help me with the dead opossum."
me: "excuse me?"
him: "you heard me, dead opossum."
me: "did the dog kill it?"
him: "i'm not sure... "
me: "what do you mean, you aren't sure?"
him: "i'm thinking maybe it drank the weed killer...."
me: "what!?!?!"
him: "just come out and help me when you are done." (as he walks back outside.)
i held the garbage bag while my husband shoveled the opossum up and dropped it in. fortunately it hadn't been sitting there a long time so it wasn't too gross. i told husband it was NOT going in our trashcan so he had to drive over to the closest business and put it in their dumpster. i mean, that's what you would do right?
so, did the magpie kill the opossum or did it drink the round up in the shed? i'm really hoping that the magpie got it. i mean, that is the natural way of things right? i feel really bad that it may have been poisoned. that seems like a terrible way to die... not that being shaken in the jaws of a dog would be great but at least that is how nature intended opossums to die. why am i even concerned about it?!?! i don't know! it's not like they are cute- they look like rats on steroids! the weed sprayer isn't going in the shed when it full anymore.... just in case, you know.
oh yeah, the picture was taken with my new camera. it is a sony cybershot- it is PINK! you heard me, i have a pink camera! i'm still learning what all it does. it is a point and shoot but it is a lot different than my old one. my favorite thing so far is that the backgrounds of my pictures aren't all dark anymore. i'll share more as i find out more!

Throw it OVER THE FENCE!!!!! ;) haha.
I was really wishing that's how you had disposed of the opossum. I am laughing so hard! I needed that story!!
Can't wait to see the camera tomorrow!
LOVE the tankini! Yes, Target rocks this house, too.
I'm going to pretend the magpie got the possum, for the same reason. I love that you made him drive it "away!"
ahhh yes mommee, back in the day the end of that story would have been "and then i threw it over the fence!"
:)
this was a very large opossum though and i think the neighbors would have noticed! HA!
