Two for One Deal on Bean Stories!

she's cute, is she not? :)

story #1:
i was down in the basement getting the laundry. she stood at the top of the stairs and yelled for me. i told her to stay where she was and i would be right there- she started down the stairs... GAH! so i'm running toward her telling her in NO uncertain terms that she is to STOP- she happily continues down... DOUBLE GAH! i grab her and take her upstairs for a very stern lecture on following the rules and listening to your mother. she starts to cry. this is what follows:

me: you NEED to listen to what i say. you could get hurt on those stairs. you MUST have a big person with you...

her: (sobbing) i nee' 'pologise mommy! i nee' ah-pologise!

me: yes, you do...

her: (interrupting once again, still sobbing) i 'pologise! please, i go down stairs! i ah-pologise!

me: (barely audible sigh) tell me you are sorry and give me a hug and kiss and i'll accept your apology BUT as punishment you will not be allowed to go downstairs for the rest of the day.

her: i sorry mommy, i sorry! (hugs and kisses given) i sorry! (pause and crying slows to a stop) i go downstairs now?

i fear i may have rolled my eyes at this point but i held my ground, she did NOT go downstairs the rest of the day. yay for me. we reviewed the rules for the stairs and about listening to what "big people" tell you. who knows if it will actually help. my guess is no, i mean she is one month from turning two and all................. SIGH.

story #2:
i'm holding bean- carrying her to bed. she is running her fingers through my hair. nice. our conversation follows...

her: mommy you got silverware in here

me: silverware?!?!

her: yes! silverware!

me: are there spoons and forks up there on my head??

her: nooooooo.

me: then i don't have silverware up there, those would be silver hairs.

her: yeah, you have some silverwares (giggles)

toddlers can be soooo odd at times, can't they? i think i really need to consider those highlights now!
she is cute, is she not? ;)
