bean is now doing dishes. she loves to play in the water, so i figured i might as well make it "productive play". ;) mind you it is only the plastics that i'm allowing her to do- no knives, heavy pots and pans, or glass items.
so i'm not completely out of this particular chore. i still have to do half of the dishes, but half is definitely better than ALL!if you know of any other household chores i can pawn off on my daughter just let me know. ha ha!
(it isn't a form of slavery! it is supposed to build their self esteem, right??)

We haven't yet reached the point that her help is actually helpful...it still creates more work for me. but I can't wait for when I can start violating child labor laws,too!! LOL
Adam loves to vacuum! Just turn the puppy on...and off he goes. Try it! :)
OH YEAH - the vacuum...do you have a little lightweight one? the girls love to help vacuum. and DUST...if you have one of the static dust clothes that doesn't require polish...let her go to TOWN!!
i say, take advantage of it while you can...sooner or later it will become so uncool to help with chores!
LOL! Hey, I say take the help while their willing. :) And I second the vote for letting Bean run a lightweight vac if you have one. Bryce loves doing that!
you know, she probably couldn't use our vacuum- kind of heavy and big BUT a hand held vac would be perfect! i now NEED a dust buster!! ha ha! :)
Dusting. Definitely get her to do this. My son loves it and he does a pretty good job too! HA!
My girls love to help, Rebecca will rinse the dishes to be put in the dishwasher and Eilidh help unload the dishwasher with me.
Simple stuff like polishing or washing floors is always a hit - give them there own clothe and let them go to town
It always makes me sigh when you realise that the age at which they become physically capable of doing chores effectively is precisely the age at which they cease to have any desire to do them :-(
