after saturday's post a few of you wanted to know what i thought about sprout's gender. do i think sprout is a boy or girl? hmmmm.
to be honest, i really don't have any idea. i've spent 90% of this pregnancy referring to the baby as a "she". does that mean anything? probably not. i mean, i have a little girl and a female dog. my guess is that saying "she" is just a habit. the fact that when i imagine the baby it is a girl is probably for a similar reason.
i don't dream about the baby. i had one baby related dream with bean and 2 with sprout. all the rest of my dreams are weird and involve lots of people from my past mixed with people from my present (that have never met). it is quite odd. my baby related dreams involve me being pregnant and having the baby kick me and you can clearly see the shape of the foot coming out of the side of my belly. creepy! so, you see, i haven't dreamed the gender of the baby either.
something somewhere inside me keeps me thinking girl though. but that could just be the fact that both bean and her father have expressed interest in this child being a girl and i don't want to disappoint them. (yeah, can you believe that daddy has actually said he wanted another girl!) to be honest, i guess i have to say that part of me really wants another girl too. would i be sad if i had a boy, no! but gosh, i love being the mommy to a little girl!
if you ask our family.... i think 90% of them will tell you boy. but i think that is because there are no grandsons/nephews on either side of the family and they all just want one. ;)
i'm trying to keep my mind neutral at this point. i don't want to find myself in tears in the delivery room because the baby isn't who i thought i wanted them to be. (obviously, god is giving us the baby that we are supposed to have!) whoever is in my belly is perfect the way they are and we will love him/her with all of our hearts! we will just have to wait a little longer to find out "who" they really are. :)
so there you have it. a wishy washy post in which i say virtually nothing! ha! but if you have any advice (especially if you have experience with this!) on the decision i have to make (from this post) feel free to leave a comment. thanks!!

It's funny, because I just *knew* immediately upon finding out I was pregnant for the first time that I was having a little boy. Now with this one, I had NO idea. They tell me it's a girl, but I'm still not 100% convinced. Your anticipation almost makes me wish we hadn't found out. :)
As for your other post, my 2 cents on the subject is that if it were me in your shoes, I'd probably wait for Sprout to make her (or his) appearance on her own. When you induce that always increases the chance of ending up with a c-section in the end. And while c-sections aren't the worst thing in the world, I'd imagine you'd want to avoid one if possible. :)
So much to anticipate!!
I have no guess, either, honestly. hmmm...
I am partial to having 2 girlies, I hope for Bean's sake she gets a little sister - it is spectacular being Mommy to 2 girls! My hubby wanted another little girl when we found out we were pg again, too. Funny how those little girls get into their Daddy's hearts!
As for the other thing...I'm with Kimberly. He/She may just take their own sweet time, but I do believe that when they come on their own terms (unless someone is in danger) it makes for a happier baby and Momma, too. Just my experience,I guess. I had both of the girls on their "terms" and although I was starting to worry Addie would be in there permanently, when she did decide it was time to come...we all had a much easier time with it.
This may be too much information...but my dr. did "strip my membranes" at my appt. the week before Addie was due, and I went into labor that night, had her at 6:30am the next morning. It is not pleasant when they do it - but it seems to move stuff along? Is that a possibility?
This baby is going to keep his/her identity a secret until the very end! so much anticipation! I love the idea of not finding out the gender, but I'd never be able to do it...I'd go crazy with the waiting, LOL. I "knew" Nadia was a girl, but I wonder how much of that was because I WANTED a girl.
I think I agree about not inducing. Nadia did come on her own, but three weeks early...and we had a lot of trouble establishing nursing which I attribute to her early arrival, even if that was "on her terms." So I feel like the more extra time they get to keep cooking, the better. altho it's easier to say that when I'm not the one feeling ready to burst!
I don't know, I think we are very instinctive about our baby inside of us. Ken and I REALLY wanted a girl, but all "signs" and gut feelings kept pointing to a boy. We did find out because Ken likes knowing and I felt that since I had such strong a leaning toward a certain gender I needed to know. I cried the day I found out it was Harrison and not "Sloan Elizabeth". Then I embraced the fact that God knew EXACTLY what he was doing giving us a boy.
I am a believer that if a mother strongly wants one gender over the other - she should find out during the pregnancy, regardless of whether or not she makes that information public. Our hormones can get so messy - it's better to lessen the stress the day of the birth. If she doesn't care and the husband doesn't want to find out - then enjoy the ecstatic surprise. Anyway, that's my opinion.
Like I said, you just may be right if you feel it's a girl or you'll be blessed with a boy. Just have the names ready!!
As for inducement...I am not really an authority except that I wouldn't if I absolutely didn't have to. That's all I have.
Im also on the side of "go" girls , daughters are so much fun. Bet you cannot wait to figure out.
As for the other induction post, just curious but is there a reason for doing it early? In the UK things are so different and unless medically necessary they will not induce before 40+10. I am a big believer in bubs will come when ready even if thats at 42+ weeks
I truly had no idea with either of my pregnancies. With my first (my girl) I wanted a boy and was fairly certain I was having one.... wrong. Then when I was pregnant with my son, I really wanted another girl (mainly because that's what I knew) but I really had no feelings of certainty... Just goes to show that you never know.
Never having got to have a second baby I don't know what it must be like to wonder what you are getting THIS time but I think (from what I've read) that mothers often think the second will never be as good as the first or want the same gender because they want to 'relive' the first experience etc . However, once that baby is in their arms they are over the moon with what God gives them :-)
I knew that the BA was a girl and I think that helped me bond with her before she was born but who knows? As for induction? Avoid if possible. I was 2 weeks overdue and with induction was bang into fullon labour within an hour. No gradual build up. It was exhausting.
